Job Summary
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to the highest standards, working closely with the Head Cook and kitchen team to ensure meals are prepared and served on time. Read menus and recipes to estimate food requirements, then measure, mix, bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods according to specifications. Adjust thermostat controls to regulate equipment temperatures, add seasoning during cooking, and taste or smell foods to monitor quality. Carve meats, portion food on serving plates, garnish servings, and ensure serving lines have adequate supplies while maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen and adhering to all health and safety regulations. Maintain food inventories as needed. Monday-Friday 4:00 am to 11:00 am; rate increases to $19.00 after 90-day probation.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a high-volume kitchen
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Use equipment and materials properly
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One-year certificate from college or technical school
- 3-6 months related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance
