Job Summary
Cook needed at Meridian Senior Living to join the dining team. You will work closely with the Dining Services Manager and handle the community’s food ordering, preparation, and delivery, as well as kitchen sanitation. Responsibilities include ensuring food is prepared nutritiously and attractively, maintaining supplies and equipment, and delivering excellent customer service to residents, families, staff, and external customers. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, state-required training, and prior food service experience (six months preferred). You’ll need to obtain a Food Handlers Permit when required by state regulations, demonstrate compassion for the elderly, work well as part of a team and individually, communicate effectively, and pass health checks and background screenings. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months’ prior experience in a food service department
- Food Handlers Permit as required by State regulations
- Experience working with the elderly
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public
