Job Summary
Coordinate food ordering, preparation, and delivery while maintaining kitchen sanitation and ensuring meals are prepared in a nutritional and appetizing fashion. Manage supplies and equipment, and provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Work closely with the Dining Services Manager to support community dining operations. This role requires a high school diploma, six months of food service experience, and a Food Handlers Permit. Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred, along with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and successfully complete training as required by State regulations.
- Obtain Food Handlers Permit as required by State regulations.
- Must meet all health requirements and pass background checks.
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.
Desired Qualifications
- Six (6) months' prior experience in a food service department preferred.
- Supervisory experience desirable.
- Previous experience working with the elderly.
