Job Summary
The Cook at McFadden's Sports Saloon will prepare and cook orders in a timely manner while adhering to sanitation and cleanliness standards. Responsibilities include managing food usage to minimize waste, advising supervisors of low inventory, restocking items, and maintaining a clean work area. Ideal candidates should have experience in a fast-paced kitchen, demonstrate cooking knowledge, and possess strong communication skills. Physical requirements include the ability to lift items weighing up to 75 pounds and perform various kitchen tasks.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year experience of cooking on a fast-paced kitchen line
- Demonstrate the basic knowledge of cooking, following recipes, portion control, and presentation
- Communication skills for interacting with other cooks, wait staff, and supervisors
- Reading and writing abilities for meal preparation and scheduling
- Mathematical skills including basic math, percentages, quantities, and variances
Desired Qualifications
- Culinary certified training preferred
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency
Additional Requirements
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
