Job Summary
The Cook prepares and serves quality meals for patients in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. Essential functions include preparing and serving meals that are appetizing in taste and appearance, understanding ordered diets and food consistency, ensuring supplies for the next meal, serving meals and snacks timely, utilizing production tools and recipes, exhibiting excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients, assisting in patient evacuation, maintaining attendance, collaborating on an interdisciplinary team, and upholding confidentiality and Life Care’s Code of Conduct. Must read/write/speak English and adhere to safety, sanitation, and applicable policies; professional relationships with associates and vendors are expected.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- One (1) year experience in food preparation preferred
- Experience in preparing and cooking food in large quantities
