Job Summary
Prepare food items using methods such as roasting, grilling, steaming, boiling, and baking under the direction of the Director, Food Services. Adhere to predetermined menu requirements and sanitation procedures while operating related equipment. Maintain physical ability to carry out duties and organize work effectively. Communicate verbally and in writing, with Chinese language skills being an asset. This role supports the society's mission of providing culturally appropriate care for seniors through excellent residential and health services.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized 12 month program in cooking or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Food Safe Certificate
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to communicate in Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin)
