Job Summary
Procedures high quality and consistent meals in accordance to established menu cycles, recipes, and food standards. Supervise daily operations of the kitchen including meal preparation, purchasing, cost control, sanitation, safety, and staff training. Assist with receipt, storage, preparation, and presentation of food while adhering to Jewish Home Assisted Living policies, federal, state, and local regulations. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and in compliance with all applicable codes. Requires 3-5 years of cooking experience for over 100 people and Serv-Safe certification; Kosher knowledge preferred. Part-time 32 hours a week including weekends.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years cooking experience for over 100 people
- Serv-Safe Certified
- Knowledge of local and state health and sanitation and safety codes
- Knowledge of food handling, preparation, cooking, service and operation of all kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of Kosher guidelines
