Job Summary
The cook will set up and operate industrial kettles and equipment to prepare large batches of pie fillings, follow batch sheet recipes, and ensure product quality. Responsibilities include sanitation and safe operation of equipment, verifying lot numbers and quantities, using a forklift or pallet jack to move ingredients, training and directing cooks' helpers, monitoring filling temperatures during cooking and cooling, coordination with QA, warehouse, supervisors, and manager, completing production paperwork, and reporting equipment issues promptly. Adherence to safety and GMPs, along with food safety practices, is required; the role involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working a multi-shift schedule in a loud production environment.
Required Qualifications
- Forklift Certified: Sit-down
- Ability to understand written and verbal direction in English and/or Spanish
- Proven experience working with industrial cooking equipment, specifically kettles
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Must be able to work in a loud environment with appropriate hearing protection
