Job Summary
Performs a variety of food production duties under general supervision; may prepare bulk foods and large-scale production, line cook or complete assembly of specialty meals and catered items; follows recipes and instructions; operates commercial cooking equipment; prepares modified diets and follows HACCP food safety standards; maintains sanitary, organized production area; communicates with chefs/leadership; may work nights, weekends, and holidays; may involve catering, retail outlets or patient-care settings; internship/externship toward culinary degree; 40 hours per week; location in Salt Lake City, UT; hospital food-service environment; potential for travel to support caterings; subject to standard onboarding and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Currently in the process of completing culinary arts certificate or culinary arts degree
- Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe as required by county
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions
- Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate and understand spoken information
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
