Job Summary
Prepare and cook diverse menu items including appetizers, entrees, and desserts while adhering to established recipes and portion control standards. Demonstrate knowledge of cooking methods and best practices to ensure dishes meet quality specifications and exceed member satisfaction. Collaborate with the front of house team during peak hours and assist in developing new menu items by testing recipes. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations. Manage food inventory to ensure ingredient freshness and quality. This role requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 pounds for extended periods, with availability for holidays and weekends. Candidates must possess strong cooking skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities, holding or obtaining an Illinois food handler certification within seven days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Have proven experience as a cook or in a similar culinary role
- Possess strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices
- Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Be detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining a high standard of food quality and presentation
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with team members from various departments
- Have a current Illinois food handler certification, or be willing to earn certification within seven (7) days of hire
- Be able to stand, walk, reach, bend, etc. for extended periods of time
- Be able to lift up to 30 pounds
- Be available to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends
