Job Summary
Lead shift operations by efficiently preparing meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables using broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers while ensuring all staff complete required tasks. Adhere to assigned work instructions, menus, and daily prep lists to portion food, maintain inventory levels, and complete opening and closing checklists. Promptly report equipment or quality issues to management and ensure compliance with portion sizes, recipes, and sanitation standards. Responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and controlling inventory while maintaining a clean work station. May assign and supervise inmates in food prep, serving, clean-up, and sanitation tasks as applicable. Must have open availability for 1st or 2nd shift between 5:00AM and 7:30PM.
Required Qualifications
- Must have open availability to work 1st or 2nd shift between the hours of: 5:00AM - 7:30PM
- High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- At least one (1) year of relevant cooking experience required
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience cooking in a cafeteria or large volume production facility a plus
- Prior knowledge and experience in a kitchen or large cafeteria setting preferred
- Experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment
