Job Summary
Prepare and cook facility meals according to pre-planned menus and detainee counts. Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly working condition and ensure work areas remain safe, clean, and sanitary. Prepare food for special facility functions, visitors, and special diets. Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas after each meal and supervise detainees assigned to the cafeteria. Requires a high school diploma, one year of food service experience, a valid New Mexico food handler's permit, and a valid driver's license. Full-time position at the Otero County Processing Center in Chaparral, New Mexico.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid food handler's permit from the state of New Mexico
- Valid driver's license in the state of New Mexico or the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Food service training
- One (1) year of food service or related experience
- Prior supervisory experience
