Job Summary
Assist the Food Service Director in monitoring workflow, prioritizing, and directing activities of other employees within the department. Prepare meals according to menus and standardized recipes; assist in preparation of food/meals for special functions/catering. Oversee storage, rotation (first in, first out), and sanitation of food; follow health, safety, and JCAHO requirements; adhere to dietary needs of clients; participate in in-service trainings and organizational activities; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Must complete pre-hire health screenings and annual TB test; annual influenza vaccine required with medical or religious exemptions as applicable.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Food Handler Permit
- Two years cooking experience in an institutional setting
- One year supervisory experience
- Skills in preparation of "traditional" ethnic Hispanic foods
- Training including food safety and sanitation
- TB test screening
- Annual influenza vaccine required
