Job Summary
Cook I responsible for preparing and presenting fresh, seasonal menu items across hot and cold stations, leading kitchen staff, supervising in absence of Culinary Services Manager and Executive Chef, ensuring safety, quality, and sanitation. Collaborates with the Culinary Services Manager and Executive Chef to maintain efficient kitchen operations, supports daily production, inventory management, and training. Duties include overseeing the Team Member Café, ensuring recipe accuracy and production standards, managing equipment and waste, supporting catering and resident services, and delivering a strong hospitality experience for residents, guests, and Team Members.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent – required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or equivalent years of experience – preferred
- 5 years’ experience in Culinary Arts within a Scratch Kitchen, Long-Term Care facility
- SÉRV Safe Certification
- Technically Proficient in Volume Hot and Cold Food Production, Baking and Pastry and Culinary fundamentals – required
- Ability to taste and work with all ingredients used – required
- Ability to mathematically reduce and expand measurements required by recipe – required
- Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, organizational, and time management skills
