Job Summary
Prepare and deliver meals according to menu specifications, dietary requirements, and culturally appropriate practices while enforcing food handling and sanitation guidelines. Manage kitchen operations, including inventory control, purchasing support, and staff training. Ensure all food service activities meet SCF standards across assigned programs. This role offers two levels with progression based on demonstrated ability to handle increasingly responsible assignments.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma; OR GED
- Alaska Food Worker Card or current Food Service Worker's permit as issued by appropriate authority
- One (1) year of experience in general food service environment
- Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent
- three (3) years of experience in a commercial, healthcare, residential, or institutional food service setting
- completion of a vocational training program in food preparation (i.e., Alaska Vocational Technical Center Culinary Arts Program; Alaska Job Corps Culinary Arts Pre-Apprentice, etc.)
- One (1) year of experience in large-scale food preparation environment
- First Aid/CPR certification acquired within six (6) months of hire date
- Compliance with our Employee Health Procedure
- agreement that you will comply with all job-related employee health screening and immunizations prior to your first day of employment
- MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap (Tetanus - Diphtheria - Pertussis), and COVID-19 vaccination
