Job Summary
Cook I at AdventHealth Daytona Beach is responsible for preparing patient, retail, and catering meals by following culinary production records, executing advance prep, maintaining health-compliant kitchen operations, and supporting high-volume service delivery. The role requires knowledge of cooking methods, ability to multi-task under pressure, attention to food safety and sanitation, inventory management, collaboration with managers and team members, basic math, reading and writing simple correspondence, and customer service skills. The position is full-time, located in Daytona Beach, FL, and may involve overtime, weekends, and holidays. Required Qualifications
- High School Grad or Equiv
- 1+ foodservice experience in a high volume culinary production capacity (preferred)
- Knowledge of cooking methods
- Able to communicate in English
- Knowledge about working in the food industry
- Ability to cook precisely and efficiently
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Good oral communication
- Excellent customer service
- Mathematical skills (sum, difference, multiplication, division)
- Creativity in food preparation
- Flexibility in scheduling
- Overtime, weekends and holidays may be required
- Ability to read/write/basic correspondence and present information
- Infection control precautions
- Confidentiality of information
- Operation of standard office machines
- Hospital/nursing home foodservice environment (preferred)
- Licenses/certifications (variable by unit/state)
