Job Summary
Cooks are responsible for meal preparation, cooking, shopping, and meal planning in coordination with menus prepared by the Nutritionist. They must follow diets including gluten-free, halal, and kosher while maintaining accurate food inventories and ensuring proper food storage. Responsibilities also include reporting maintenance needs, meeting with a nutritionist to set up dietary menus, and helping plan special occasions. Required qualifications include at least one year of cooking experience, the ability to follow directions, and the physical capability to lift 25 lbs and perform various movements.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a cook (at least one year experience)
- Ability to follow both verbal and written directions
- Ability to work well with staff members and the individuals we support
- Ability to cook following menus and meal preparation guidelines
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Must be in good physical condition and be able to bend, twist, and reach in the performance of your duties
