Job Summary
The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals for residents in a skilled nursing facility, following standard recipes and menu plans, accommodating special dietary requirements, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, collaborating with dietary staff, ensuring food safety and timely service, and coordinating with other departments to ensure nutritious and appealing meals.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in preparing meals for large groups, preferably in a healthcare or similar setting (hospital, skilled nursing facility)
- Must have a Food Handler’s Card
- Must have an active CPR/BLS certification
- Must speak, read, and write English fluently
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
