Job Summary
Prepare and assist with food preparation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while following specific dietary restrictions and providing alternatives for residents. Demonstrate creative initiative and mature judgment when making competent decisions, consistently maintaining a courteous, empathic, and professional attitude while working with individuals of varying personality types and maturity levels. Maintain confidentiality and a professional appearance at all times, communicating effectively to receive and share necessary information. Requires a high school education, one year of dietary experience in a medical facility preferred, a sanitation certificate, and the mental and physical capacity to perform essential functions.
Required Qualifications
- Some experience in institutional cooking
- Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation and hygienic methods
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Mental & physical capacity to perform the essential job functions with or without accommodations
- Ability to work with and provide care to individuals of a wide range of personality types and maturity levels
- Ability to demonstrate creative initiative and mature judgment in making competent decisions
- Consistently maintain courteous, empathic, and professional attitude
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all activities and persons
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times
- Ability to communicate and comprehend orally and in writing to effectively receive and share information as necessary to perform job duties
- Transportation accessible to enable flexibility of work schedule
- High school education or equivalent

- Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities
- Knowledge of dietary procedures
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility
