Job Summary
Prepare all menu items as directed by the Restaurant Chef, operating equipment and stocking food while adhering to State and Federal Health Codes. Work assigned kitchen areas including Broiler, Prep, Sauté, Pantry, and Expediter, assisting others in duties and guiding patrons during emergencies. Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external patrons through professional communication. Maintain a neat appearance and hold an Occupational License as required by the Illinois Gaming Board. Must assist patrons in answering questions and direct them to safety areas during emergencies as instructed by management, security or senior crew members.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in English verbal and written
- Proficient with iOS devices
- Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Must have two years cooking experience
- Must have neat and clean appearance
- Must be able to: Work within restricted area of Soft Count room with reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to: Bend, stand or stoop for long periods of time
- Must be able to: Communicate verbally and professionally
- Must be able to: See
- Must be able to: hear. Can be augmented with a hearing aid
- Must be able to: Tolerate noisy and/or dimly lit environment
- Must be able to: lift a minimum of twenty pounds (20 lbs.)
- Must be able to: have manual dexterity
- Must be able to: Climb stairs repeatedly
- Must be able to: Push/pull drop carts and drop boxes
- Must be able to: Work accurately with basic math skills
- Must be able to: Write to complete daily reports
- Must be able to: Understand and comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Descriptions, daily memorandum and other written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to: Read and understand in order to communicate with patrons and co-workers
- Must be able to: work under stressful conditions
- Must have the ability to hold an Occupational License as required by the Illinois Gaming Board
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- 1 Year experience preparing gourmet food items in an a la carte fine dining restaurant preferred
- Char broiler & Sauté experience as well as steak house foods desired
