Job Summary
Cook in Harmony Senior Services community prepares meals according to approved menus and recipes while considering residents' dietary needs, supervises dietary staff in the absence of Dining Services Director, maintains sanitation and safety, monitors temperatures and portion control, assists in training and in-service sessions, and supports a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Serv-Safe certification within 60 days is required or willing to obtain.
Required Qualifications
- Must have experience in dining services
- Must be Serv-Safe certified, or be willing to complete certification within 60 days of hire
- Must possess the ability to read, write, and make simple calculations
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and withstand temperature extremes, wet and/or humid conditions and noise
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis or at least eight (8) times per shift
- Must be able to carry heavy objects for 20 feet
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to learn quickly and apply principles learned
- Must be familiar with sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
- Must be able to follow oral and written directions
