Job Summary
Prepare food in accordance with nutritional guidelines, regulations, and residents' individual prescribed diets and food preferences while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Identify and report food and supplies needed for weekly menus, assist in receiving, rotation, and storage of products, and coordinate food services for special community events. Foster residents' independence with eating by providing adaptive equipment when needed and ensure proper food storage handling per infection control standards. Notify the Director of Food and Beverage regarding equipment malfunctions and take ownership of associate and resident safety. Requires high school education, food-preparation training certification preferred, and knowledge of state food-handling and OSHA standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school education
- Must disclose any medication that might impair associate's ability to perform the job safely or competently
- Certified in food-preparation training
- Knowledge of state food-handling and kitchen regulations
- Knowledge of OSHA Standards and fire and safety procedures
- Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
