Job Summary
Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus and dietary guidelines, ensuring they are tasty, properly portioned, and attractively presented. Assist with food prep, baking, and special meals while maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and serving areas. Monitor food inventory and report supply needs to the Dining Services Director. Interact warmly with residents during meal service, accommodating their food preferences and special requests. Help with set-up and clean-up for special events, holidays, and themed meals. This part-time role includes Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday shifts from 10am to 3pm.
Required Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and dietary needs (e.g. diabetic, low-sodium)
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend, reach, lift, and carry throughout your shift
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Food handler certification
- Willingness to obtain food handler certification upon hire
- Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced kitchen team
- Availability for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday (10am-3pm)
