Job Summary
Cook position responsible for setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment, establishing a line for each meal period and preparing plates according to resident diets, preparing ingredients for cooking, ensuring great presentation by dressing dishes before serving, maintaining a sanitized and orderly kitchen, monitoring daily temperature logs, proper storage of food and items, and checking ingredient quality. Requires a High School Diploma or GED (ServSafe preferred), knowledge of cooking procedures and temperatures, and at least one year of cooking experience in restaurant, healthcare, or hospitality settings; strong customer service skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- ServSafe Preferred
- One year cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare or hospitality setting
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Knowledge of cooking temperatures for various types of food (meats, vegetables, desserts, etc.)
- Excellent customer service skills
