Prepare or direct preparation of food items on assigned menus while maintaining sanitation and adhering to local, state, and federal guidelines. Adhere to food production schedules to avoid waste, properly label and store leftovers, and maintain equipment and work areas. Prepare special meals and snacks as instructed by Nutrition Services, identifying items with patient details, and log temperatures for refrigerators and freezers. Identify and correct safety hazards, maintain inventory supplies, and assist in training new staff or supervising workers when assigned. Check trays for correct flavor and temperature, assist in recipe standardization, and perform other duties as needed.
