Job Summary

Prepares, assembles baked goods, cooks, seasons and portions food for patients/residents, staff, and visitors of the designated facility, preparing and serving food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements. Adheres to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature and sanitation. Performs washing and cleaning duties to insure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas. Maintains labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery. Interacts with many internal customers requiring above-average communication and teamwork. Demonstrates ability to cook and operate in a dynamic culinary environment; follows standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines; documents HACCP steps and temperatures to ensure safety; operates a wide range of kitchen equipment; can work independently when needed; has basic math skills and ability to read recipes; must be on feet most of the day and may travel between locations. Depending on location, ServSafe and BLS may be required; a valid driver’s license may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Serv Safe may be required depending on location
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location
  • Valid Driver's License may be required
  • Minimum of six months of applicable experience preferred
  • On-the-job training will be provided
