Job Summary
Cook role in an institutional senior-living kitchen responsible for preparing nourishing, well-balanced meals meeting resident dietary needs. Follows standardized recipes, prepares meals per menu cycles developed by Registered Dietitians, operates institutional food preparation equipment, maintains food safety and sanitation, provides meal alternatives for resident preferences, supports storage, tray assembly, and cleaning, and communicates with supervisor to maximize resident satisfaction. Requires attention to nutrition, therapeutic diets, and professional kitchen standards to deliver high-quality, resident-centered care in a facility setting.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year experience as a cook in an institutional food service setting preferred
- Basic understanding of nutrition and therapeutic diets
- Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills
- Understanding of person-centered care
- Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations
