Job Summary
Prepare and cook a variety of food for residents, families, and visitors according to established menus and standardized recipes. Oversee culinary assistants and coordinate kitchen operations, ensuring proper food handling, portioning, and serving while preventing contamination. Maintain a safe, secure, and dignified working environment by following sanitation policies, cleaning equipment daily, and reporting hazards immediately. Respond promptly to resident and family requests, communicate effectively in accessible languages, and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Comply with attendance policies, attend mandatory trainings, and wear appropriate dress.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to two years related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
