Job Summary

Responsible for the preparation and cooking of meals in the assisted living community, ensuring meals are prepared and presented according to HallKeen Assisted Living Communities standards. Provides high level customer service in a restaurant-style dining atmosphere, collaborates with the Food Service Director, maintains a clean and sanitary kitchen, adheres to food safety practices, assists with events and special meals, and may perform other duties as assigned. Requires reading recipes and production guides, maintaining temperatures, and handling and storing food according to standards; must pass background checks and medical certification requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years experience as a cook in a hospitality or healthcare environment
  • Serve Safe Certification
  • Able to read and follow recipes, production guides, cleaning schedules, and logs
  • Criminal Background check completed for unlicensed employees per state regulation
  • Medical certification from licensed healthcare provider confirming freedom from communicable disease including TB at hire and annually thereafter
