Job Summary
Cook in an assisted living facility performing culinary preparation for residents with texture-modified diets, while following individualized care plans and production sheets. Responsibilities include preparing meats, vegetables, soups, and desserts; applying dysphagia-safe thickened liquids and diet modifications; ensuring proper internal temperatures and portion sizes; dishwashing, sanitation, and deep clean routines; waste management; inventory and temperature logs; and compliance with hygiene protocols. Requires 1–2 years of kitchen experience in healthcare or similar settings, ServeSafe certification is a major plus, and candidates must pass background checks and drug screening. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for an 8-hour shift.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, or healthcare environment
- Experience with geriatric dietary needs and texture-modified diets is highly preferred
- ServeSafe Certification is a major plus
- Ability to multitask and manage cooking timers while handling dishes and floor cleaning
- Ability to pass criminal background check, fingerprinting clearance, and pre-employment drug screening
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for an 8-hour shift
