Job Summary
Cook role responsible for preparing two healthy meals daily (breakfast and lunch) for approximately 25 clients, coordinating with the program manager and Registered Dietitians to create weekly menus that meet funder guidelines, and maintaining the kitchen and pantry to NYC Food Service Standards. Duties include managing supplies and inventory (biweekly order), sanitation and safety compliance, maintaining records of daily meal distribution, and collaborating with peers to ensure high-quality nutrition services. Preferred bilingual English and Spanish.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold or obtain the NYC Food Protection Certificate issued by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene prior to the start of employment.
- Knowledge of food safety and proper food handling.
