Job Summary
Cook - Evenings at Hendricks Behavioral Hospital in Plainfield, IN. Responsible for the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch, and dinner for patients and staff per approved menus and production sheets, following Joint Commission, CMS, state, and OSHA standards. Duties include following recipes, preparing and presenting dishes, occasional food service, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, safe handling and storage of ingredients, and ensuring food safety/sanitation. Requires high school diploma (preferred) and at least two years of quantity cooking experience, with knowledge of modified diets and a food handler permit; crisis prevention training within 30 days of employment and flexibility for overtime. Compensation ranges from $20.50 to $22.50 per hour; full-time benefits described. The role is based in Indiana at Hendricks Behavioral Hospital, Plainfield, with on-site work.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- two (2) years’ experience in quantity cooking
- basic knowledge of modified diets
- training in food service sanitation
- possession of food service food handler’s permit as required
- experience utilizing industrial kitchen equipment and utensils
- some prior kitchen supervisory experience helpful
