Job Summary
Cook daily food for breakfast buffets, evening meals, and café-style lunches for groups ranging from 10 to 120 people while managing stock levels, allergens, and special dietary needs. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards in compliance with HACCP, Cooksafe, and COSHH protocols, ensuring smooth shift handovers and team training. Address guest feedback and complaints professionally in coordination with hostel management.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience of catering for large groups
- Pastry chef experience
- Working in busy contract catering environment
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene
- HACCP
- COSHH regulations
- A relevant catering qualification including Elementary Food Hygiene certificate, SVQ/NVQ in catering, food production
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure whilst remaining calm
- Vast knowledge of food styles
- Excellent time management skill
- A successful candidate is required to provide one satisfactory reference
- A recent Basic Disclosure clearance
- Evidence of your right to work in the UK
Desired Qualifications
- Ideally you will have: Previous experience of catering for large groups, pastry chef experience, working in busy contract catering environment.
