Job Summary
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes including appetizers, entrees, and desserts according to the hotel's menu and specifications. Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation while ensuring timely service. Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of ingredients. Assist with kitchen inventory management, checking supplies for freshness and reporting issues to leadership. Operate kitchen equipment properly, perform maintenance tasks, and collaborate effectively with front-of-house staff. Work variable shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with occasional overtime during peak periods.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role within the hospitality industry
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and safety
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with kitchen equipment and food safety protocols
- Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment operation
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs)
