Job Summary
Prepare palatable, nourishing, well-balanced meals to meet daily nutritional and special dietary needs for each resident. Supervises dietary department employees in the absence of the Dietary Manager; interviews, hires, and trains staff; plans and directs work; ensures adherence to recipes, food safety, and regulatory guidelines; maintains equipment and facility cleanliness; supports resident rights and service quality; participates in inspections and staff training; communicates with supervisor to maximize resident satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year experience as a cook in an institutional food service setting preferred
Additional Requirements
- Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in the position.
