Job Summary

Cook Dietary role responsible for preparing palatable, nourishing meals to meet residents' daily nutritional and dietary needs. In the absence of the Dietary Manager, supervises dietary department staff, handles interviewing, hiring, training, planning and directing work, scheduling, timekeeping, performance evaluations, and enforcing organizational policies and applicable laws. Duties include following standardized recipes, preparing meals according to menu cycles developed by Registered Dietitians, maintaining safe food handling and sanitation, operating institutional kitchen equipment, supervising kitchen staff, ensuring resident satisfaction, and supporting regulatory readiness and infection control. Requires ability to communicate with supervisors, participate in in-service education, and uphold residents' rights and safety; preferred High School diploma or equivalent and one year of institutional food-service cooking experience.
