Job Summary
Prepare meals, cook, and serve nursing home residents, hospital patients, employees, and the public while following recipes, practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Clean kitchen areas and cross-train to fill in for vacations. Operate heavy equipment and stand for several hours at room temperatures up to 90 degrees, lifting at least 50 pounds at a time. This part-time role includes weekends and holidays with cook hours from 5am to 1:30pm and dietary aide hours from 6am to 2:30pm. One year of institutional cooking experience is preferred, and the employer provides training for the right candidate.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to follow and understand recipes, written instructions, and labels and communicate with dietary personnel
- Must be 18 years old
- Dependable
- Must be able to stand on feet for several hours at a time
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time
- Must be able to stand room temperatures up to at least 90 degrees
- Must be able to operate heavy equipment
Desired Qualifications
- One year of institutional cooking experience preferred
