Job Summary
Cook and custodian prepare and serve nutritional meals while maintaining kitchen facilities, equipment, and inventory in a safe and orderly manner. You will clean kitchen areas, facilities, and appliances, ensuring all operations meet established guidelines and schedules. This role requires driving a Salvation Army vehicle, performing continuous physical activity including walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments with temperature variations. Attendance requirements must be met, and candidates must read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively
- Ability to cook, taste and smell food
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing
- Ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle safely following all laws, regulations, and policies
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- One-year experience cooking food for large groups
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
