Job Summary
Cook responsible for preparing meals in a long-term care nursing facility according to standardized recipes, ensuring accurate portions, appropriate temperatures, and appealing presentation. Duties include serving or delivering meals, quality tasting, maintaining cleanliness and food safety, and stepping in for the Food Service Director when needed. Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of healthcare cooking experience; ServSafe certification preferred or to be obtained after hire. On-the-job training provided; walk-ins welcomed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- ServSafe Certification preferred or will become ServSafe certified after hired
- Minimum one (1) year experience in nursing home, senior living, hospital, or healthcare
- 1 year nursing home/healthcare food service experience in large-scale cooking
