Job Summary
Cook responsible for meal preparation, delivery, and maintaining a clean kitchen under health department regulations. Support Dining Services Director by assisting in orientation of new team members and scheduling, prepare meals in a nutritious and appetizing manner, present meals attractively, greet elders, families, and staff, maintain equipment and cleanliness, and adhere to infection control procedures. Must be formally trained in culinary arts or have equivalent experience, be able to work in a team, obtain required food-handlers permit, communicate in English, pass a background check, and perform duties with or without accommodations.
Required Qualifications
- Formally trained in the culinary arts or have equivalent experience as a cook
- Willingness to learn and work within a team environment
- Food handlers permit or ability to obtain one as required by state regulations
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- English reading, writing, and speaking with residents and coworkers who only speak English
- Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation
