Job Summary
Maintain sanitary conditions in work and food service areas while producing standard food products using approved menus and recipes. Operate kitchen equipment, report malfunctions immediately, and move cooking equipment weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the kitchen and dining areas. Implement Compass Connections safety protocols, including evacuating with children and staff during emergencies, and frequently traverse kitchen spaces to report unsafe conditions. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary per supervisor request while demonstrating emotional control in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- First aid certification
- CPR certification
- Emergency behavior intervention certification
- 6 months of related experience and/or training
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Pass random drug screens throughout employment
- Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request
- Pass a pre-employment criminal background check
- Pass a biennial criminal background check
- Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics
- Provide excellent customer service using organizational and planning skills
- Maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene
- Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times
- Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position
- Distinguish small details and markings near the observer
- Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures
- Receive an annual Influenza vaccination or obtain an approved exemption as a medical or religious accommodation
- Comply with required dress code at all times
