Job Summary
Cook position (Part-Time, 1-7pm weekdays and every other weekend) responsible for preparing, presenting, storing, and dispatching meals for dining room, Bistro, marketing and catering events, and resident trays. Requires adherence to health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and dietary requirements; involves utilizing kitchen equipment, maintaining inventory, assisting with training, and staying productive with flexible shifts. Emphasis on quality, presentation, safe food handling, and collaboration with Dining Services team. Must be able to lift up to 50 lb and demonstrate effective communication and teamwork; computer literacy (MS Word/Excel/email) and attention to detail are required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of cooking experience required.
- Working experience in retirement home industry preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation, and presentation required.
- Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling required.
