Job Summary

Prepare, present, store, and dispatch food products for dining room, bistro, catering events, and resident tray service while adhering to menu specifications and health and safety regulations. Ensure all menu items meet departmental policies, nutritional programs, and individual dietary requirements through timely preparation and proper portioning. Maintain kitchen standards by performing sanitary measures, utilizing equipment, and managing inventory to support anticipated volume. Serve food at proper temperatures and report any infractions or accidents promptly. Work at an efficient pace, demonstrating flexibility to fill open shifts and assist with new employee training.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of cooking experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling
  • Ability to lift up to 50lb
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and e-mail
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Arrive to work at the scheduled time
