Job Summary
Cook on the Aramark team at the Cleveland Zoo, responsible for preparing a variety of foods per production guidelines and standardized recipes, setting up the workstation, measuring and prepping ingredients, safely using utensils and equipment, cooking with multiple methods, garnishing and portioning, ensuring food safety and sanitation, and delivering strong guest interaction and teamwork in a dynamic environment. Role may involve physical duties such as lifting and standing, and may require PPE. Opportunities for skill development and adaptation to client requirements are mentioned as part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- Must be able to acquire food safety certification
- Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
