Job Summary
Cook (CK) role in Sunnyside School District at Chief Kamiakin Elementary to assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals for students within the National School Lunch Program, maintain sanitary kitchen conditions, monitor food choices to ensure nutrition requirements, replenish food during meal service, and assist with inventory and storage of unused food; requires teamwork, safety and sanitation practices, basic math, and effective communication with students, staff, parents, and community. Must have HS diploma or GED and a WA food service permit; 21+; school food service experience preferred; duties include cooking, serving, cleaning, and ensuring proper storage and disposal of foods; last revision June 12, 2026.
Required Qualifications
- Must upload a copy of High School diploma, High School transcript, or GED
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Washington State Food & Beverage Service Workers Permit
- Job-related experience is desired
- Previous experience in school food service or comparable experience preferred
- ASFSA & WSFSA certification preferred
