Job Summary
Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, cut, and marinate food according to guidelines while following recipes to ensure consistent quality. Clean and sanitize all kitchen, food prep, and appliance areas daily, including refrigerators, freezers, stoves, and floors. Monitor stock levels, complete monthly inventories, and report shortages to the Food Service Manager. Maintain accurate food service records and adhere to USDA, Department of Health, and funder policies regarding food safety and sanitation. Collaborate with management to modify menus and accommodate client needs. Participate in agency self-assessments and funder reviews.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year working as a cook in a food service kitchen
- the ability to acquire certification within one year of hire
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
