Job Summary
Prepare high-quality, nutritious meals meeting hospitality standards while accommodating individual dietary needs and maintaining strict food safety protocols. Taste and portion food according to standardized recipes, coordinate meal production with serving hours, and ensure proper cooling and heating procedures. Assist with kitchen organization, document temperature logs and cleaning schedules, and train new dining team members. Handle food safely, adhere to infection control guidelines, and utilize basic math for rations and proportions. Stay current on FDA and state licensing requirements while communicating effectively with residents' families regarding care.
Required Qualifications
- Applicable state/county licensure
- Food Manager Certification, or ability to obtain
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds independently, and up to 200 pounds with assistance
- Required to communicate effectively and identify/interpret written information
- Required to follow all infection prevention and control protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Required to complete a background check and drug screening
- Required to participate in required health assessments (such as TB testing or physical evaluations)
- Required to use designated personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company policy and applicable law
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least one (1) year experience as a cook
- CPR or BLS certification
- Demonstrated proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word), web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and any HR-related systems as applicable
