Job Summary
Prepare and serve food as directed by the supervisor while maintaining assigned duty schedules. Clean equipment after each meal, store unused items properly, and keep food preparation areas organized in compliance with health and safety regulations. Process all Point of Sale transactions, track free and reduced-price meal applications, and balance daily receipts for bank deposits. Report equipment malfunctions and supply needs to the manager while communicating job concerns to leadership. Maintain a neat personal appearance and wear district uniforms throughout the nine-month school year.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated aptitude for the successful performance of the tasks listed
- ServSafe Certification
- Ability to obtain the certification within a timely manner
- Ability to effectively communicate, verbally, and in written form, with administrators, staff, and the community as needed
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to reach, climb, bend, stand, and walk
- Ability to use hand strength to grasp and hold
- Ability to lift, carry, move, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to occasionally move, push, or pull up to 100 pounds
- Good dexterity
- Good vision
- Good hearing
- Ability to maintain a neat, clean personal appearance
- Ability to wear district uniforms at all times when performing duties
- Ability to attend and participate in department meetings and training sessions when scheduled
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, principal, and his/her designee
- Ability to work on an at-will basis for nine-months
- Ability to accept a yearly work calendar showing the specific daily work schedule
- Ability to accept a modified yearly work calendar by the Board of Education at any time
- Ability to accept a definite daily schedule established by the Director of Student Nutrition Services and the head cook
- Ability to accept yearly salary disbursed in nineteen (19) equal payments or twenty-four (24) equal payments per employee's choice
