Job Summary
Cook needed for a state-of-the-art skilled nursing facility. The role involves preparing food for residents, including therapeutic-diet meals, following prepared menus and recipes, and assisting with cleaning and serving as directed by the dietary supervisor or Executive Chef. The position is available as Full Time or Part Time and is on-site in Cincinnati, OH. Responsibilities include cooking residents’ meals, ensuring correct quantities, maintaining sanitary food-handling practices, supporting the Food Service Assistant as needed, performing other duties when not cooking, and adhering to health regulations set by the public health department. Required Qualifications
- Genuine interest in working with patients and food service as related to total patient care
- Ability to read, write and follow written and oral directions
- Ability to cooperate with supervisors, co-workers, and other departments
- Ability to follow recipes and menus, especially related to therapeutic diets
- Ability to work under pressure at peak periods
- Willingness and cooperation in following instructions as given
- Basic knowledge of quantity food preparation and cooking beneficial
- Ability to estimate relative quantities of food, per written recipes
