Job Summary
Cook responsible for meal preparation, delivery, and maintaining a clean environment under health regulations; assists in orienting new team members, ensuring meals are nutritionally prepared and attractively presented, and contributing to a positive environment for elders. Primary duties include meal prep under the Dining Services Director, maintaining equipment and work areas, adhering to infection control practices, greeting elders and visitors, and supporting teamwork and organizational needs.
Required Qualifications
- Formally trained in the culinary arts or equivalent experience
- Willingness to learn and work within a team environment
- Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Food handlers permit or ability to obtain one as required by state regulations
- Good verbal communication and ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation
